We looked into potential local venues that would not only fit our predicted small audience size, but would also represent our genre of music and the audience that already attended the venue. We found that The Sunflower Lounge would be most appropriate due to its intimate and achievable 120 capacity, and our event’s genre being compatible with its usual audience. I knew that the venue also had a great location as it was very close to New Street station and The Bullring, so this could have attracted more people. We decided that The Sunflower Lounge would be the perfect venue to hold our event in as it is associated with the indie scene in Birmingham and it is a suitable size for what we needed. . I (Rosie) also had connections with the manager of this venue, so I was able to contact the manager of the venue, and get a discount for the night.
We arranged a date for when we were all free, and something that didn't clash with other events on in Birmingham that night.

messages between myself and the manager of The Sunflower Lounge confirming a date and the venue.

below are emails between myself (Rosie) and the promoter.
