I (Rosie) had designed the final logo and poster. I had tried to make the colours bold and eye-catching, whilst trying to imagine an 'indie' colour scheme. To me, this was pastel colours.
I came up with the idea of the phone in reference to 'Phoney' and had tried to put a spin on that; that way, when people see the logo they will remember the phone and therefore the name 'Phoney' will be easy to remember.
I had looked at The Sunflower Lounge’s past events on their social medias, and looked at the type of design that other people had designed for their events. As the poster and logo was important in attracting our audience, I ensured that the colour scheme and font style projected playfulness and a lively, exciting atmosphere – to reflect the indie genre of our event. I continued the same visuals and themes across the logo and the poster, so we could begin to make our own trademark and a recognisable, individual brand image. I had tried various colour schemes for the logo and we chose the most appropriate one as a group, as shown in a previous blog post.
After presenting the group both of my poster designs, we collectively decided that the second one was much better. I have also presented the possible logo colour schemes below.
